Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, died last month from an accidental overdose of drugs, according to forensic reports. The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to various media houses that the 19-year-old died from the toxic effects of fentanyl, bromazepam, alprazolam, 7-amino clonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine. 

The mother, actress Drena De Niro, shared the news of her son’s death on June 2nd on her social media platforms. In the comments of that post, she stated that her son did not have any idea about the fentanyl-laced pills that were sold to him that led to his death. She also expressed her concern about individuals selling such pills that impose a threat of life on millions who consume them. 

The famous actor Robert De Niro has also stated his deep distress regarding the passing away of his grandson. He has also demanded that his fans support them in their grief and provide them with appropriate privacy for mourning the loss of Rodriguez.

The Culprit For Rodriquez’s Death 

After the death of Robert De Niro’s death, a 20-year-old woman was arrested just 2 weeks after the death. She has been arrested under the federal charge of selling drugs that led to the death of the grandson of the superstar. 

The woman named Sofia Haley Marks was arrested on the 13th of July on three counts of narcotics stemming from distribution and sale to De Niro Rodriguez, reported by law enforcement officials. 

The law officials have stated that the details of the case shall not be discussed on a public platform with the aim of protecting the privacy of Rodriguez and the De Niro family. 

So, it can be stated that the issue of drugs is a major issue within the United States that is imposing the threat of life on many youngsters of the nation.
