Victims have filed a lawsuit in New York City against Oscar-winning actor, Jamie Foxx. According to this lawsuit, he faces allegations of sexual assault way back in August 2015.

The lawsuit was brought forward by a plaintiff whom the document identified only as Jane Doe. It claims that Foxx groped her at a secluded area within the Catch NYC rooftop lounge.

The incident reportedly occurred after the plaintiff and a friend approached the actor for photos. Now, Foxx’s representatives have yet to comment on the lawsuit. However, the lawsuit does seek unspecified damages.

According to the lawsuit, Foxx allegedly initiated unwanted physical contact by groping the woman. He also allegedly attempted to touch her beneath her clothing. The encounter was interrupted when the woman’s friend discovered them, prompting her to depart from the situation.

Foxx gained acclaim for his portrayal of singer Ray Charles in the 2004 film “Ray.” The role led to him winning an Academy Award. He also received an Oscar nomination that same year for his supporting performance in “Collateral.”

This accusation comes amidst a series of high-profile cases. In these individuals, mostly actors are facing allegations of sexual misconduct under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York state law. This allows lawsuits for incidents beyond the statute of limitations. This law’s one-year window for such complaints is set to close at the month’s end.
