People of the state of Kentucky are still not privy to Abortion rights as it remains banned throughout the state. The Supreme Court is yet to decide on the disputes having risen from the ban.

The highest court of the state refused to overturn a ruling passed by a judge from the State Court Of Appeals which brought into application two controversial laws that ban all forms and stages of abortion in Kentucky. Disputes on the subject rage on. 

The panel constituted of seven judges, out of which five held in favor of the decision. The remaining two were not completely against the notion. The legal rationales were different, not the outcomes.

Chief Justice Minton Jr. along with the Deputy Chief Justice have opined that this judgment has been erroneous to some point. They held that abortion services should continue being provided till the disputes are resolved. 

Minton held that the judgment had the potential to bring forth irreparable harm to women as any sort of relief in the case of emergencies is absent. 

The Court has further opined that it has scheduled the hearing for these disputes on the 15th of November this year. This hearing shall decide whether or not to lift the ban on abortion till the existing disputes are resolved. 

The hearing is scheduled 1 week after the 8th of November which is the date for the general elections. General elections hold considerable weight as the voters shall decide by ballot system if abortion is to be permanently declared unconstitutional. 

The results will thus put an end to the ongoing disputes.
