The 2024 US Presidential candidate Ramaswamy, a Conservative, has stated that a strong relationship between the US and India can help the US declare its freedom from China as the nation is economically dependent on the East Asian nation.

In a video message shared by the PTI, Vivek Ramaswamy stated that the United States is economically dependent on China presently, but establishing stronger relations with India will make it far easier for the US to declare independence from Chinese relations.

Biden’s administration’s point person for South Asia has earlier stated that the US wants to be a part of India’s economic blessings. Goldman Sachs, in a report, has stated that India, which is currently the fifth largest economy, is stated to become the second largest economy in the world by 2075. Not only India will surpass Japan and Germany but also the United States.

Meanwhile, the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who was on a four-day visit to Beijing in July of this year, stated that the United States and China have significant disagreements and they must communicate “clearly and directly.”

She has also stated that the aim of the visit has been to establish and deepen ties to China’s new economic team, reduce the risk of misunderstandings, and create a way for cooperation in areas like climate change and debt reduction.

She has also repeated that Washington has not been seeking to decouple from China’s economy, adding doing so would be disastrous for both nations and could destabilize the whole world.

During the visit, Yellen also asked China to support US-led institutions like the Green Climate Fund to mitigate future crises. Thus, this means that the US is aiming to reduce drifts with China to improve its relations with the East Asian nation.
