US Senator Bob Menendez faces new and updated charges. These hold that he received bribes to help Qatar out while also supporting Egypt.

The revised form of this indictment claims Menendez accepted cash and gold bars from Fred Daibes. Mr. Fred was willing to get hold of Qatari funds for a real estate venture.

In return, Menendez reportedly made public statements in support of Qatar. Previously accused of acting on behalf of Egypt, these new charges don’t introduce fresh criminal counts. However, they do highlight the alleged Qatari involvement.

The indictment brings about bribery claims and throws light on Menendez’s actions supporting Qatar. Additionally, he also served as the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chair.

Moreover, Daibes wanted Menendez to misuse his influence for Qatari investment. These claims come from the federal court indictment.

Allegedly, a Qatari official provided Formula 1 Grand Prix tickets to Menendez’s wife’s relative.

All pleaded not guilty and await trial. Adam Fee, Menendez’s lawyer, criticized the new claims as desperate and filled with odd assumptions about Menendez’s legal dealings with foreign officials.

Fee stated that Menendez’s conduct with Qatar, Egypt, and other countries was always proper. Therefore, they are portraying that the indictment as an attempt to prejudice the public before the trial.
