Another Landmark anti-trust trial proceeding opened up against Google. Prosecutors in the United States are coming up with allegations against Google.

They claim that for years Google has been stifling market competition. The search engine and Tech giant has apparently been spending billions of dollars to enjoy a market monopoly.

US prosecutors are claiming that the monopolistic practices of Google have caused harm to every computer and mobile device user in the United States.

Lawyers from the United States Department of Justice have delivered their opening remarks in front of a federal George in Washington.

The accusation points toward Google’s negotiation of exclusive contracts with wireless Carriers and phone makers throughout the United States. These contracts are helping cement the premium position of the Tech giant in the market.

Google’s effort to remain in a dominant position lies in clear violation of the antitrust laws of the United States.

Did you know that this trial is about to be one of the largest anti-trust trials to ever take place in the United States?

Experts have drawn similarities with the Federal Government’s Lawsuit against Microsoft way back in the 1990s. Both cases have similarities regarding having tie-ups with multiple proprietary products.

The trial will continue for several weeks. Google CEO Sundar Pichai will be one of the witness testimonies. Other witnesses can include senior and former employees of Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Samsung.

The Department of Justice prosecutor Kenneth Dintzer has said that the effects of misconduct by Google are vast in nature.

He stated that Google pays more than 10 billion dollars every year to the Tech giant Apple and other companies. This ensures that Google is the only and default search engine available on the devices.

“This case is about the future of the internet, and whether Google’s search engine will ever face meaningful competition,” Dintzer added.

Experts question the nature of the consequences this anti-trust behavior has on consumer privacy and advertisement prices.
